This book offers an examination of translation and interpretation by comparing 24 english language versions of one verse of the New Testament, Ephesians 4:14
The deconstruction enacted here divides the text into five sections with headings that are listed at the start of the book; 1.Children, 2.Waves, 3.Teaching, 4.Tricks & 5. Deceit.
Subsequent pages display, section by section, all the different textual renderings across the 24 versions.
The'original' language is powerfully descriptive,poetic and evocative. Under this deconstruction these qualities are both tested (along with the patience of the reader) and reinforced by repetition and rearrangement.
