Photographs of painted circles from roundabouts.

The images are here in a state of constant, although almost imperceptible change from one to the next.
The photographs are taken from the roadside from where the circles are seen as ellipses. The images were subsequently stretched to form circles and the resolution reduced.
These circles were made to serve as signs that embody a rule, intended to be seen rather than looked at. Although created 'uncreatively' by road painters, they can be read as outdoor public art. They present a surface patina which is the product both of the makers' techniques and the physical rigours that have been placed upon them over time.
